KENDRA OESTREICH
Kendra Oestreich is a senior communications strategist and former award-winning television news reporter with more than two decades of experience telling stories that inform, inspire, and drive results. She discovered her passion for journalism while anchoring her junior high school's morning news program and went on to pursue that dream, earning a degree in mass communications from the University of South Dakota—Tom Brokaw's alma mater. Before joining Catalyst Communications Group, Kendra spent 18 years as a television news reporter and anchor in markets across the country, from her hometown of Rochester, Minnesota, to Green Bay, Wisconsin, before trading her snow boots and the frozen tundra for flip flops and the beach, heading south to stations in Orlando, Dallas, and Tampa.
During her news career, she covered some of the nation's biggest stories, including the Casey Anthony murder trial, where she appeared on Nancy Grace and Larry King Live; devastating ice storms for The Weather Channel; deadly tornadoes and the West Fertilizer Company explosion in Texas; and the Steven Avery murder trial in Wisconsin, which was later featured in the documentary Making a Murderer.
Following her television news career, Kendra served in communications leadership roles with Hillsborough County Public Schools and Hillsborough Education Foundation before joining Catalyst Communications Group.
Since joining Catalyst more than three years ago, Kendra has become a trusted advisor to nonprofit organizations, schools, and community leaders. She develops communications strategies, leads media relations efforts, prepares executives for interviews, manages crisis communications, and secures impactful earned media coverage across local, regional, and national outlets. Drawing on her newsroom experience, she helps clients tell authentic stories that build credibility, strengthen reputations, and advance organizational goals.
Kendra lives in Apollo Beach, and in her free time, the Wisconsin native enjoys cheering on the Green Bay Packers, scuba diving with lemon sharks and goliath grouper, spending time at the beach, and planning her next cruise.
