Seasoned Public Affairs Leader Joins Catalyst Communications Group

Catalyst Communications Group, a leading media relations and consulting firm, announces the addition of Maya Brown as Vice President.    

“Maya’s vast background in both public relations and public affairs is a welcome addition to our growing firm,” said Catalyst President Christina Barker. “At Catalyst, we set our sights on developing and sharing the amazing stories of Tampa Bay’s leaders and recruiting top talent to support our clients’ work. Maya brings a wealth of knowledge in community relations, communications, and business operations, and we’re excited to have her as part of the team.”  

With over a decade of experience, Brown is an educator, political operative, and lobbyist. She founded MB Strategies, a political and public affairs consulting firm that has led multimillion-dollar communications and advocacy campaigns to increase civic engagement across the Southeastern United States. Brown was named among USF’s 2026 Outstanding Young Alumni, Florida Politics’ “150 Most Influential People in Florida Politics” in 2022, and INFLUENCE Magazine’s “30 Under 30” in 2020.

A Florida native, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and earned her Master's of Public Administration and Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit and Community Development from Florida International University. She lives in Central Florida with her best boy, Gino.
