TAMPA, FL — Catalyst Communications Group proudly announces that Gene Yagle will be honored with the prestigious 2024 Silver Circle Award by the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). This tremendous honor recognizes Gene's outstanding contributions to the broadcast industry, unparalleled dedication to excellence, and unwavering commitment to elevating storytelling standards.

The Silver Circle is a special recognition given to individuals who have worked in the television industry for 25 years or more, and give back to their communities as mentors, educators, and volunteers.

“I have had the amazing opportunity to travel the world, meet thousands of people and share their stories using pictures and sound. I have witnessed happiness, sadness, grief, loss, inspiration, humor, and history firsthand,” Yagle said. “This amazing experience has always kept things in perspective and made me never take life for granted.”

Yagle is currently Catalyst’s Director of Video & Photography. During his illustrious career, he consistently demonstrated journalist excellence for more than four decades. He has been honored with 31 regional Emmy awards, in addition to dozens of Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists and Edward R. Murrow awards.

For 37 years, Gene worked at WTSP/CBS in Tampa Bay as a photojournalist and later as chief photojournalist before his recent retirement. During his tenure, he traveled across the United States, Central America, Europe, and the Middle East to shoot and edit stories. Yagle also worked at WBBH in Ft. Myers and WSVN in Miami. Plus, he spent several years working in radio as a disc jockey and a news anchor and producer for a news/talk station.
